Jadeite

Jadeite

Jadeite, belonging to pyroxene, is an aluminum silicate mineral. Jadeite has a Mohs hardness between 6.5 and 7, with a vitreous luster.

Its main production area is concentrated in Myanmar. Due to the high market value of jadeite, some merchants use strong acid soaking or color filling to make lower-grade jadeite appear similar to high-grade jadeite. In the market, jadeite products are typically identified by letters A, B, and C to distinguish their quality. Grade A jadeite refers to natural jadeite that has not undergone chemical treatment, with natural color and structure, while other categories contain varying degrees of artificial additives.
